Friday evening's tug-of-war and barbecue saw the end of the Sutton Miniolympics
for another year. The final placings of
the teams were:
1. Haddow (Haddow came first in 5 of the 13 events!)
2. D-block (last year's champions; squash winners)
3. Physics (football and swimming champs)
4. F-block (top at snooker)
5. CRUK labs (not bad for a small department)
6. Radiotherapy (top at badminton, tennis)
7. Pharmacy (top at softball, table tennis)
8. All Stars (who seldom fielded a team)
The full results (points table and results for each individual event)
are on the Institute net
(http://intra.icr.ac.uk/mini/mini_o_homepage.htm)
Congratulations to Liz Macrae and Juliet Richards, who organised and
encouraged the Haddowites to win by a large
margin; Haddow now holds the Bedpan Trophy which it last won in 1997.
Thanks to all the team captains;
to the event organizers Chris, John and Matt, John and Alex, Nigel, Sandra & Steve, Stuart, Young;
to the pH people and helpers on the barbecue;
and to all who took part - especially to those who came with small hope
of winning. Without losers there's no
contest!
Any volunteers to organise the 2003 Miniolympics?
Martin
