Rules 2012

Usual rules - keep it friendly !!

The Mini-Olympics Organiser would like to remind everyone that you participate in the Mini Olympics for a reason:
TO HAVE FUN AND SOCIALISE WITH YOUR COLLEAGUES! (
Rule 1)

In order to avoid problems with people getting too competitive and things potentially getting ugly, please could everybody take the following into consideration:

Ringers:  We have always allowed outsiders to play provided a team CANNOT get enough of their own team members together to play. It should be a priority to select participants from your representative areas and not to choose family or friends above your work colleagues even if they are particularly good at the event. Teams should not be penalised for fielding outsiders unless there are obviously staff members present who are eligible to play. This rule allows departments with smaller numbers of staff to participate fully in the games (see Rule 1).

Event organisers:  Please feel free to exclude or penalise a team (or members thereof) if their behaviour is getting out of hand. This also applies to spectators!

Team captains:  Please set a good example to your team by acting in the spirit of the games.

In the event of a draw on final Mini-O points, the team with the most wins will be deemed to be the winner.
In the event of this being tied, a count back for second places will decide the winner, etc.

For specific event rules, see the EVENTS pages (available via Points Table)

And remember the Umpire's decision is final.
