Hello Sutton,

We are delighted to announce the launch of Science Bites Sutton this February- a new seminar series designed to share your work in a relaxed, informal setting. Sessions will run every two weeks on Fridays at 3:30 pm in the BLB Lecture Theatre starting on the 6th of February. Each session will be followed by pizza and drinks (free), with conversations encouraged to continue in the Ph Bar.

What to expect

Each session will feature:

    Two short 15 minute talks

    5–10 minutes for questions

    Speakers from different departments

We encourage speakers to give broad and introductory talks accessible to the huge variety of backgrounds within the Sutton community.

Work in progress talks are very welcome

In person attendance is encouraged; a Microsoft Teams link will be available on request, but pizza will not be shared remotely

Call for Speakers

We are currently looking for speakers to kick off the series in February, March and April. If you’re interested, please volunteer here by the 23rd of January. Informal seminars are a great way to practice presenting; share ideas and meet researchers you might otherwise never interact with.

Get involved

Everyone is welcome to attend! Science Bites Sutton is run by and for junior researchers and we’d love to broaden representation across departments. If you’d like to help shape the series we’d love to hear from you.

Best wishes,

The Science Bites Sutton Committee
