                            SUTTON MINIOLYMPICS 2004

==============================================

Only a week away now - I hope you've signed up to take part!

We now have only seven teams, as listed below. The missing team is marked 'X' on the lists below, which indicates a walkover for the teams they are drawn against. If, however, anyone feels left out and wants to compete in some event as 'team X' please contact me!

     B.....Big Macs (McElwain)             P.....Physics

     C.....Chemistry                           T.....Therapeutics

E.....Eastenders (BLB east)           W.....Westsiders (BLB west)

     M.....MUCRC

We have decided to scrap the football event, because no-one wants to organize it, and because it has invariably resulted in injuries in the past. Instead, we are trying a netball contest for the first time. The netball will take place one evening, probably 14 July, at Nonsuch High School, Cheam, and will be organized by Sarah Bullock. Teams consist of 7 players; if you can't find that many, Sarah should be able to find extra players.

Event organizers so far appointed:

  badminton.....Stuart Wilson (4734)

  darts.....Sandra Edwards (4366)

  netball.....Sarah Bullock (4027)

  pool.....Stuart Wilson (4734)

  quiz.....Martin Osborne (4405)

  running.....Nigel Bush (3348)

  snooker.....Stuart Wilson (4734)

  squash.....Sandra Edwards (4366)

  swimming.....?

  table tennis.....Martin Osborne (4405)

  tennis.....Martin Osborne (4405)

  tug-of-war.....?

  volleyball.....?

The amended timetable and draw are listed below, and will soon be available on the miniolympics website (http://intra.icr.ac.uk/mini/mini_o_homepage.htm), as will details for each individual sport. Steve Edwards (ext 4538) is manning the website.

Don't fret if you cannot field a team for all events. It would be polite, however, to inform the organizer and/or your opponents if you're not coming.
