SUTTON MINIOLYMPICS 2004
==============================================
The Miniolympics got off to a vigorous start, with the first volleyball session on Monday evening. Each of the 6 matches was hotly contested (hotly, because it was about 27 degrees in there). The four teams were more evenly matched than the final score suggests - Therapeutics 3 wins, Eastenders 2, Westsiders 1, MUCRC 0.
In the squash on Tuesday, Eastenders were successful again; they and MUCRC qualified for the finals. For detailed results visit http://intra.icr.ac.uk/mini/mini_o_homepage.htm which will be updated as soon as possible after each event.
A group from MUCRC have been playing table tennis every other day for the last few months, so it came as no surprise that they won the first table tennis group on Wednesday. Therapeutics also qualified for the finals (corrected from original email 18.06.04).
For the last excitement of the week, gather round the pool table in the pH bar this evening!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are competing in an event, please be ready to start at 6 p.m.; in other words, if you want to warm up and practise (or be taught how to play!), be there earlier. Most events will be open at 5.30.
Remember - there are points for the losers as well as the winners, so better a poor team than no team at all.....
