SUTTON MINIOLYMPICS 2004
==============================================
We have had two more exciting finals. Last week MUCRC won the table tennis contest, beating Westsiders 2-0 in the final; well done, Alan and Tina. Yesterday evening an efficiently organized Physics team beat Therapeutics to take the Volleyball crown, as they did last year.
On the basis of matches played so far, Eastenders, Therapeutics and MUCRC are nosing ahead of the other 4 teams. But there's a lot still to happen. There are more finals this week: this evening Eastenders defend their badminton title against Big Macs, MUCRC and Therapeutics, and on Friday Therapeutics, Big Macs, Eastenders and Physics play darts.
Tomorrow we have our first (ever?) Miniolympics Netball contest. There are six teams competing, all-play-all, at Nonsuch school where a group of Institute staff has been meeting to play regularly over the last year.
On Thursday evening brawn takes a rest and brain takes over. The Miniolympic Quiz will be in the pH bar at 6 p.m., in the usual pub quiz format. The bar will provide the necessary lubrication.
Next week we shall have the Pool finals, the races, and the tug-of-war, culminating in the finals celebration and award of the Miniolympic trophy. Do't miss it!
