Chemistry win the bedpan trophy in the 2017 ICR Mini Olympics

Team Chemistry has been crowned the winners of the 2017 Mini Olympics competition after a close battle for the top spot.

This year’s Mini O’s, organised by members of the Ups Club Committee, took place between 4th and 15th September and saw six teams from ICR and RM competing in various activities, including badminton, darts, video games and table tennis.

Chemistry beat closest rivals SRD (Sir Richard Doll) by just two points, which came down to a tense battle in the Tug of War, the final event in the competition.

The bedpan trophy was presented to Chemistry and the competition celebrated with the traditional Finals Night event at the PhBar, organised by the Student Committee. Kate Eason, the Student President said “The mini Olympics is a fantastic tradition which brings many scientists and support staff together to compete in this friendly, enjoyable competition. The wide variety of activities, organised by volunteers, means there is something for everyone”.
