Addendum 1a: Management of the Squash Section:  ‘GUESTS’

Members may bring a ‘guest’ with them to play. Members must inform one of the Squash Committee that they have brought a ‘guest’ - this will be logged. The guest however can only attend a maximum of three times. This is a stipulation of our squash insurance policy (click for link), and the official name for these attendances is a ‘Taster’ Session (click for link). Under the insurance stipulations, each Taster Session and the guest name has to be recorded in a log. The log file is called Squash Guest Taster Log File 26.01.09.xls and is administered by the Squash Committee Officers and password protected for confidentiality.

Children (U18) Associate or Family Members cannot play without supervision from a parent or legal guardian. U18’s must be Associate or Family Members of the Ups Club. U18’s who are not members will not be allowed to attend as ‘guests’. Parents supervising U18 Associate or Family Members must have the CONSENT of the non-dependant Associate or Family Member to play. Verbal permission is acceptable. U18 Associate or Family Members cannot bring their own guests to play. These points are covered in our Draft Children’s and Vulnerable Adults Policy.

Addendum 1b: Duties of Squash Section Committee Members (Officers)

Squash Section Health and Safety Officer - addition to duties list

1. Chairman:     In addition to the duties listed in the Main Constitution, The Chairman will also be responsible for ensuring that Health and Safety issues are adequately addressed and brought to the committee for appropriate discussion. This role has become formalised following the requirement to prove this function was being carried out for our insurance renewal in 2011. The role (Health & Safety Officer) can be deputised by the other officers of the Squash Club.

Approved by the Ups Club Squash Section Management Committee at the AGM of 02 August 2012.
