1. Block Booking
There
was concern amongst committee members that it was difficult to book a playing
slot during the lunchtime periods whilst the Main Hall Foyer was being
refurbished.
It
was noted, that whilst emails sent by Louise concerning Body Conditioning,
Aerobics and Pilates, and by Steve concerning Circuit Training - many of the
committee had not fully appreciated the lack of access to squash slots caused
by these 3 activities at lunchtimes and especially the week beginning05 May
2003 (Monday being a Bank Holiday)
Tuesday
06.05 was booked for Circuit Training 12.30 - 1.50pm
Wednesday
07.05 was booked for Pilates 11.50-1.10 followed by Body Conditioning 1.10 -
2.40pm
Thursday
08.05 was booked for Pilates 11.50-1.10pm
Friday
09.05 was booked for Circuit Training 12.30-1.50pm
This
meant that it was difficult for anyone to get a game.
The
committee came up with the following proposals in response to the concern:
It
was noted that 05-09 May was an exceptionally busy week for non-squash
activities and would probably not happen again.
It
was also noted that the application to host the Body Conditioning, Pilates and
Aerobics were made in consideration that the early part of the month is usually
quite quiet for squash. However it was also noted that lunch time bookings over
the last 2-3 months have been higher than usual.
Louise
reported that the Foyer refurbs were on time and due to finish by Wed 14 May
2. AOB
Committee
members have the authority to 'cross -off' stickers on the booking sheet anytime
after they have been placed there by players.
It
was clarified that the 'crossing-off' does not have to wait until a match has
been played. The crossing off acknowledges that the sticker has been used and cannot
be removed and used again (even if the match is not expected to be played). As
part of the 'crossing-off' the date should be added to the sticker if not
already present
As
a clarification measure, this rule can be posted to the web site and written in
on top of the booking sheets ACTION SE
If
a slot is not required after it has been booked, the booker can write 'FREE'
on it to indicate such. This rule needs to be posted to the web site and to the
top of booking sheet ACTION SE
The
main reason for this months glut of 5's is that 4 new players wanted to join.
So Steve had stuck with the rule of putting new people at the bottom of leagues
so as not to penalise anyone. This meant there were 6 people left at the end
that had to split into 2 groups, as 6 in a league is too many and the league
program can't cope with it.
The
committee expressed regret if this has caused any upset, but it was felt that
this was a good sign that 4 new people wanted to join.
This
is planned (in agreement with Ron Nye) for June ACTION SE
This
will be converted into a web page - the list can also be left in the court

ACTION NH
The
committee agreed that it was time to close the option on getting a refund on
yale keys in the form of 6 stickers. Notice to go to court and
