mounted outside entry door as agreed Nov and subsequently site meeting
15.12.11. |
New 2 x 7.5Kw
spec suggested 15.12.2011. Previous spec was 25 KW (31.10.2008) |
Internal Blower
Protective Grilles |
- Agreed custom fabrication mild steel
to protect both blowers from squash ball damage. Design as previously agreed
with Kevin. - Grilles to allow easy access to air

external inverters. |
|
Controllers |
- Requested single wired
controller, but advised by Dave 03.01.12 that each unit will need a separate
controller. Change in spec noted by Steve. Need controllers to be wired as
there is no requirement for a remote control system. - Controllers to be mounted on balcony
or near ground floor wooden control box (to be decided). - Controller to have locking (or PIN
code) system to avoid unauthorised tamperring of settings. |
|
Opeartion &

7.5KW unit - Cooling approx 72 days per yr (£168 pa) - Heating approx 193 days per yr (£446
pa) - Total estimate for ONE unit =
£614 pa - Discussed with Dave 23.01.12, that the
extra cost for the second would not be much more, just speed of ataining temp
will be quicker. |
|
Parts and
Warranty |
- Parts warranty is 3 years as Tech
Services is a recognised fitter. One year labour costs guaranteed. |
|

Total price
£3,960.00 + £792.00 (VAT) = £4,752.00 Quoted 23.12.11

Dear Dave,
Thanks for the
kind confirmation yesterday that the price quoted is for the 2 units plus cages
and installation etc.
I think I got the
VAT calc wrong in my last email, so I think the total is:
£3,960.00 +
£792.00 (VAT) = £4,752.00
I hope to get
back to you soon with an answer.

Dear Dave,

Many thanks for your kind note on the controllers.
Could you please kindly advise on the metal protection cages (what exactly is referenced in your quote) as per my enquiry of the 2nd Jan (below) ?
A committee member has asked if you could also please advise on where the water vapour extracted from the air will drain from and to ?
Do you have an idea of the average power consumption please ?
I look forward to hearing back from you,
Cheers, Steve

Thanks very much for kindly sending this quote through so quickly.
Can I just check that the following arrangements we agreed on the 15th of December will also apply:
- single controller provided for both units can be locked for essential settings to stop tampering.
- controller to me mounted on balcony or near wooden control box (to be decided).
- continuous operation will be adopted during daylight hours with units on timer - coming on at approx 10:00 hrs and off at approx 20:00 .
- siting of 2 internal blowers towards left hand side, and as high as possible so air can’t be felt (as per schematic provided Steve at meeting 15.12.11)
- internal blower vents to be fixed at angle to prevent air flow being felt by players.
- metal protection cages for internal blowers to protect from squash ball damage.
- security cages for external inverters for theft prevention - require confirmation please if these are what are referenced in quote provided 23.12.11
- parts warranty is 3 years as Tech is a recognised fitter. One year labour costs guaranteed.
You also kindly advised that an estimation of an average power consumption would be made available for the 2 x 7.5KW units in continuous operation.
I look forward to hearing back from you on these matters so that I can relay the revised quote to the squash committee for their consideration.
Thanks again for your kind help,
Cheers, Steve

Dear Dave and Kevin,
Just to follow-up further on our phone chat last week.
Please find attached as requested the 2 quotes we’ve kindly received (2008 & 2009).
We’ve obviously had a lot of associated chats and meetings, so I’ve tried to summarise these and the various verbal agreements below and in the attachment [Summary Planned Mitsubishi System 27.11.11.pdf].
· Twin Mitsubishi units agreed 30.04.09, instead of multisplit originally specified.
· Two interior blower units to be sited as agreed - offset to allow access via balcony.
Airflow to be directed above heads of players.
· Two protective custom fabricated metal grilles for indoor blower units to prevent damage.
Grilles to be designed so as to allow easy access from balcony to air filter housing.
· Single controller with ‘disable function’ on button access to prevent unwanted tampering.
Plan is to have system on most of day.
· Two exterior inverter units to be mounted outside door as agreed verbally with Dave 22.11.11.
I have a couple of further questions as alluded to in the phone call.
1) The quotes don’t specify which Mitsubishi inverter and blower units are proposed for the installation.
2) Is it possible to estimate an average power consumption on the 2 units so we can get an idea of running costs ?
3) Confirmation please that the controller has a PIN code access in order to prevent tampering.
4) We discussed a tamperproof enclosure for the controller. We haven’t yet confirmed the location of this and the controller.
This enclosure may not be necessary if the controller requires a PIN at all times.
5) The previous unit was left ON for most of the day. Even when not working fully (via mechanical clock) it was still circulating air.
We might like if possible to have a similar control option on the new system.
Maybe even having one of the new units on most of the time and having ‘game activated’ (coin operated) operation of the second unit.
6) I’m not sure if the Warranty/Parts Guarantee has been specified on the system
I look forward to your answers on these questions so that I can give a complete synopsis of the current situation to the committee for their consideration of final approval.
Kind regards, Steve

Dehumidifier - MCB Circuit Breaker Tripping / Unit Declared Unserviceable
Dear Dave,
Just a short line further to our phone chat this afternoon to say thank you for relaying the news that in your opinion the current TSC15 squash dehumidifier has become unserviceable as it is blowing fuses and the hardware inside is passed economic repair.
I’m just copying in the officers of the squash club for their information, and will shortly circulate to the remaining committee members to see if they are in agreement to sanction a replacement system based on the quotes Kevin has kindly provided.
Kind regards, Steve
